Water Activities In Morocco :

Morocco is a great destination for surfing, paragliding, whitewater rafting, whitewater kayaking and more recently canyoning and tubing. MOROCCO DISCOVERY offer a range of professionally run, safe and fun water activities for you to take part in when you are out in Morocco.

Surfing In Taghazout :

It might not be the first destination that springs to mind when wondering where to catch your next wave, but those in the know have been visiting the Atlantic beaches in Morocco for decades. The village of Taghazout is a hotspot for surfing in Morocco as it offers a variety of surf depending on what you’re looking for. Of note, Anchor Point, Hash Point and Killer Point (eek!) all have relatively quiet breaks, and it is said that you can ride a 2km wave just north of Taghazout in the right conditions.

At around 19km north of Agadir, roughly a 45-minute drive, Taghazout Bay is easy to get to and there is surf hire shops, surf schools and cafes offering kit and refreshments for visitors. Interestingly, not far from here are the Argan fields where Argan is grown for Argan oil or head inland to Paradise Valley – more on that below. As a more low-key place to visit than Marrakesh and Agadir, the Berber village of Taghazout is the perfect place to surf, relax, unwind, try some yoga and catch some waves.

Kite Surfing In Essaouira :

South of Agadir is another coastal town, Essaouira, which is much bigger than Taghazout but is home to a fantastic kite surfing bay. Kite surfing in Morocco might not be an obvious activity to try here for the first time but there are much worse places to spend a week that in Essaouira. The large, picturesque cove is home to sandy beach and blue waters and offers the perfect wind conditions to try your hand at maneuvering a parachute whilst hooked into a surfboard like board. To recover from your endeavors on the water, stroll along the coastal walls of the old town, explore the markets and gorge yourself on fresh fish, cooked whole. This pretty town is a firm favorite of the Kandoo crew.

Kayaking In Bin Louidane :

Under the constant Moroccan sunshine, along one of the country’s many rivers that wind through the hilly highlands give a tranquil background for some of the world’s most exciting Morocco kayaking and river rafting excursions. You can either go to The High or Middle Atlas Mountains.

A must for kayaking, Oum Er-Rbia is the second-largest river in Morocco after the Sebou River. It originates in the Middle Atlas and passes through the city of Khénifra, arriving at its mouth at the Atlantic Ocean at the port of Azemmour.

If you choose to raft through the Middle Atlas, you will be in the waters of Ahanssel, a popular kayaking destination, with many sections suitable for beginners to intermediate paddlers. Families will be glad to learn that rafting is a kid-friendly activity that takes place in specific locations where the river is tranquil, and they can relax and enjoy the scenery.

Diving in Essaouira, Agadir & Dakhla :

Morocco offers 4000 kilometers of gorgeous coasts between the Mediterranean and Atlantic oceans, where you may experience a variety of aquatic life. Divers can view dolphins, whales, sea turtles and spot tunas, eels, groupers, and sea bream on the reef.

Agadir and Essaouira are two of the most popular Atlantic diving destinations. The Atlantic provides year-round sunshine, wreck diving, continental drop-offs, and the opportunity to swim with orcas and sardines.

Finally, Dakhla, in the south of Morocco we find the paradise of dives. We can do that sports tourism by launching ourselves into the adventure of the Atlantic Ocean.
