In this six-day Morocco Camel Trekking Tour, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in nomadic desert trekking life. You will see diverse desert landscapes, eat mouth-watering traditional food, and sleep in wild Morocco desert camps or under the stars.

When To Go? :
The period for trekking in the desert runs from first October to End of April.
October still has rather warm day-time temperatures, very pleasant evenings. Night-time lows of around freezing in December / January. But winter light conditions are beautiful, due to the low winter sun. Possibility of a light rain shower in March. The desert is in bloom and camel calves are grazing. Early April sees the arrival of higher temperatures.
EASY LEVEL : trekking time between 3-5 hours per day.
Take With You :
- Equipment: Good walking shoes (not heavy) walking sandals, sleeping bags, sportswear type sweaters and parkas in winter.
- Nomadic turbans are very useful.
- Provide also: flashlight, Swiss army knife, matches, sunglasses, something to read, hygienic wet wipes, small plastic bags to put your toilet waste.
- Do not forget the usual medicines.
What To Wear :
- A long cotton scarf to wrap around your head is recommended if it is windy and the sand is blowing. You can buy a traditional Moroccan scarf. They do a great job keeping sand out of your hair, nose and eyes. It is more comfortable to wear longer pants when riding on camels. Between November and April, the desert can be very cold at night, so bring warm clothing for this time of year: sweater and jacket, hat and gloves; and in December, January and February particularly, you’ll also need warm socks, long pants and a warm coat.

- The group travels on foot; luggage, camping equipment and supplies for the trek are transported by camel. (it is possible to ride camels during the trek).

Day 1: Mhamid – Oued Naam

We start our Desert Trip riding the camels heading towards the big dunes of Erg Chegaga to discover the wonderful big desert. After about 3 hours riding, we stop for a lunch break under a shadowy tree, enjoy a tea and relax. We then continue our riding and Desert Trekking for another 3 hours until we reach a dry river (Oued Naam), where we will set our camp, have dinner and spend the night in a tent or under the starlit sky.

Day 2: Oued Naam – Lotide

In the morning, our trip continues amid the desert. We will cross a large part of the desert for about 3 hours before we stop somewhere for lunch. After our meal, we continue our exploration and enjoy the fabulous desert landscape. After another about 3 hours ride, we will set our camp in the wonderful dune area of Lotide. Here we will have dinner and spend the night under the starlit sky or in tents.

Day 3: Lotide – Erg Chegaga

Enjoy the sunrise and morning breakfast before we carry on with our trekking towards the big dunes of Erg Chegaga. Lunch and a cup of tea are offered in the Sacred Oasis before we reach the dunes. In this oasis, you will find palm trees and a source of water running the whole year that is used by nomads for personal use and for their herds.
After another 15 km of riding/ walking (optional), we arrive to the big dunes of Erg Chegaga, reaching a height of 300M and a span of 40 km. Here you can admire the sunset and experience a different world, one made of calmness and tranquility. You will enjoy dinner accompanied by local entertainment and spend the night in Berber tents at a Nomad Camp.

Day 4: Erg Chegaga – Bougarn Dunes

In the morning, we take the route back to the desert door (M’hamid). After about 3 hours riding/walking, we take a lunch break under a shadowy tree and continue our exploration to arrive at the dunes of Bougarn for the night, settle our tents collect woods and make campfire.

Day 5: Bougarn Dunes – Mezouaria Dunes

Wake up early in the morning to enjoy the sunrise and breakfast served in a Moroccan way. We then continue our trip discovering more of the Sahara Desert Morocco Sand dunes and stones before stopping for lunch and enjoying a cup of mint tea. Afterwards, we continue our Camel Trekking and riding/walking towards the dunes of Mezouaria, where we will spend the night either in the tent or in the open air under the starry sky.

Day 6: Mezouria Dunes – M’hamid

On the morning of the sixth day, we continue our ride towards to Our camp or Hotel in M’hamid, where lunch together will mark the end of this exceptional tour.
