Welcome to Morocco! Upon arrival to Marrakech you will meet your driver and transferred to your hotel for the check in. The driver will provide a short overview of your entire trip in Morocco. After breakfast, you will have a guided tour of Marrakech city. You will start with a fresh morning visit to Jack Majorelle gardens, a peaceful spot in the Ville Nouvelle, contains botanic and exotic plants brought from all over the world, with dominating indigo blue to paint. You are going to visit the 19th Century Bahia Palace, built by the Grand Visir of Marrakech with its incredible mosaics and stucco and hear some interesting stories about his 4 wives and the 24 concubines!!. Admire the extraordinary architecture of Saadian Tombs, a royal necropolis of the 17th century. Spend some great time in the famous souks of Marrakech with different smells, colors, items before reaching the square of Jemaa lfena, a bustling place where snake charmers, monkeys, food stalls and musicians, the most animated square in Marrakech. Today you will escape the bustling Marrakech for a break to the Atlas Mountains. This Day Trip is a perfect opportunity to enjoy a scenic drive into the National Park of Toubkal. On the way, in the verdant valleys with several Berber villages, one can admire the vast countryside covered with green oaks, cypresses and other typical vegetation of the Atlas. The route of the Asni Ouirgane day trip offers you a variety of overwhelming landscapes. Then we will take a small Mountain-pass to arrive at Ouirgane and we will enter in the canyons of the Oued N’Fis. You will make a few stops along the way for the stunning panoramic views before you reach the village of Imlil Toubkal contains the highest summit in the north of Africa and it is the second summit in Africa after Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. We will exit at the small village of Imlil, the starting point for exploring the Toubkal area with a local Mountain guide. The environment of Imlil is glorious, you just have to wear some comfy sport footwear for this, and our tour guide will accompany you for a smooth hike amidst the Berber villages. On the afternoon you will back to the city of Marrakech. Spend the overnight with breakfast at the hotel.

Today we head to the countryside of the Haouz plain. We travel over the stunning Atlas Mountains on the Tizi N’Tichka pass for the breathtaking views of snow-capped Mountains. As you descend into the desert surroundings you discover multiple clay villages before arriving to the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, a fortified city and UNESCO World Heritage site which you will acknowledge from the collection of recreation of Thrones. After exploring the Kasbah, you will enjoy lunch before continuing your journey towards the city of Ouarzazate, often called the Hollywood of Morocco. Head over to the 17th Century Taourirt Kasbah which escaped damage by changing into a Hollywood famous location, where numerous big movies took place like Gladiator and Prince of Persia. We arrive to the palm groves of Skoura for the overnight with dinner at the hotel.

Today is the epic of your tour in Morocco. The caravan will continue through the Dades valley admiring the amazing rock formation and the road of thousand Kasbahs within the beautiful nature like the Kasbah of Ait Yul dated back to the 19 century. We’ll continue our tour towards Todra Gorge, a colorful narrow canyon famous for outdoor lovers. After lunch, we’ll continue through the Ziz Valley to reach Erfoud, an oasis town known as the gate to the Sahara desert and recognized for its unique fossils. There we can visit a local factory which produces artisans and house decor made from fossils. Arrive to the Sahara Desert of Merzouga where the stunning sand dunes of Erg Chebbi to take a camel ride led by a Bedouin guide robed inside the flowing blue garb of the Tuareg to camp in a Berber tent beneath the innumerable stars of the clear desert sky. An experience to not be missed is to have a look at the sunset from the spectacular Merzouga dunes, an energizing location inside the midst of the big every-changing golden dunes, where you will actually really feel a liberating peacefulness.

Today you can wake up early in the morning to watch the sunrise that will be embedded in your mind. Then after breakfast you’ll get back to the village of Merzouga admiring the unique beauty of the spectacular Erg Chebbi sand dunes. Meet your driver and leave to the medieval city of Fez through the palm groves of Ziz valley providing a rocky passage and the Oued Ziz. Our trip continues alongside the trailing edge of the Cedar Forest close to Azrou - which means in the Berber culture “Rock“ located up a steep hill inhabited by endangered Barbary Apes. Next stop is Ifrane a Tidy, ordered and modern city, that feels more like Switzerland relocated to the Middle Atlas. In late afternoon you will be driven via to FES for the night in our Hotel/Riad.

Today you will meet your local tour guide to explore the old medieval medina of Fez and the first imperial city, a real labyrinthine of more than 9000 alleyways and deserves to be the intellectual and cultural capital of the kingdom. You will start with a stop by the ornamented Royal Palace gate. Then, you will enjoy a panoramic view of the southern tower of Fes, and visit the cooperative of pottery where they make tiles and Moroccan mosaic. You will mingle with local people in the narrow streets full of articles, colors and donkeys carrying goods. You will see a lot of handcrafted items. We will explore one of the Koranic school (Medrassa), the Nejjarine fountain, and the Karaouine Mosque University. The leather tanneries, famous in Fes, is one the highlights of the tour, watching locals working on skins of goat, lamb, camel and cow, in small pits. You also will indulge yourselves with some special dishes of Fes cuisine. The rest of the day is at leisure with the overnight at the hotel with breakfast.

Today is a day at leisure to choose your schedule. You can stroll through the alleys of the medina on your own or try some of the local activities such a cooking class on the morning. Today we leave the medieval city of Fez to explore the other 17th century Imperial city Meknes. The tour will include the ramparts around the Medina and the tremendous gate of Bab Mansour (1732), the granary Sahrij Swani, grain and water storage and used as a barn for 12000 horses. Meknes has a big production of olive oil and olives and you will see an amazing verity of olives in the local market of square Lahdime. After lunch, we drive towards Volubilis, the archaeological Roman site well-preserved listed in UNESCO (1997), remains of astonishing mosaics, hundreds of Latin inscriptions and artistic materials. After our enjoyable walk in Volubilis we carry on towards the blue town of Chefchaouen nestled in the Rif Mountains. Check in at the hotel for the overnight with dinner.

Today you will explore Chefchaouen, Morocco's enchanting city beneath the striking peaks of the Rif Mountains. Whitewashed homes with red tile roofs line narrow, winding laneways, their walls painted in brilliant shades of blue. Take a sightseeing tour with a friendly local guide, and discover firsthand the culture of this fascinating region of Morocco. You will enjoy the distinctive Arab-Andalusian art and architecture, narrow streets, marvelous fountains, squares, traditional public oven. Then you will arrive at the spectacular center of the city and see the Outa Hammam Square with the 14th-century fortress and the big mosque. After you learn about the history of this city, we will continue the tour to the Ras El Maa spring. Chefchaouen is a unique city located in the Mountains and every guest will feel amazed by its breathtaking views, its springs, watermills, natural pools. Spend the overnight with dinner at the hotel.

After breakfast, we will continue the trip to the Northern city of Tangier considered as the gate of Africa. Marvel at the picturesque views of the Atlantic Ocean and the famed Strait of Gibraltar, a perfect photo opportunity. Mingle through the Kasbah district located next to the port, before heading towards the old Medina. Wander through the narrow streets lined with colorful doors, ancient and modern. Pass the Grand Sacco and the Petit Sacco with its multitudes of boutique hotels and Riads. This historically location has hosted a variety of famous artists including Matisse, Camille Saint Saens, Paul Bowles and William Burroughs, and was home to favorite son, IbnBattouta. Spend the night with dinner at the hotel or Riad.

Today we leave the gate of Africa Tangier towards the main capital Rabat named as the city of Gardens. It is a modern and traditional city, dynamic mix of ancient and modern culture and it is surrounded by colorful hills and mountains. The city itself is elegant with harmonious gardens, luxury stores, shops and flowers. It is a city where the bustling Medina (old city) still resembles the town created ages ago, and home to the minaret of the Hassan Tower. You will visit the Mohammed V Mausoleum, the striking and evocative 12th century Kasbah of Oudaya with its beautiful white and blue buildings with a fantastic view over the Atlantic beach and Bouragrag River, and the ramparts of the Mechouar surrounding the Royal Palace. Afterwards, we depart towards the economic capital Casablanca for the overnight with breakfast at the hotel.

After breakfast, start to visit the highlights of the fabled city of Casablanca, where an elegant blend of Art Deco and Neo-Moorish buildings line spacious avenues. You will visit the majestic Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the world, then we proceed with the favored Mohammed V square, the United Nations Place, the residential district of Anfa and the setting of the Royal Palace with a stroll alongside the Corniche boulevard where the night life of the city lines up with private and public seashores. We were booked and had paid a deposit for a trip late March of 2020, which was canceled due to the pandemic. Said, the owner of MD, went to extraordinary lengths to refund the deposits for our travel group of six from the U.S. Apparently the Moroccan banking system is not "user friendly" when it comes to wire transfers for reasons unclear to me. Nevertheless, Said managed to refund all our money using a very creative approach. We would DEFINITELY travel with MD in the future given this level of honesty and effort; but we do hope that MD will accept credit cards rather than wires in the future. Three of use booked a 19-day with Moroccan Discovery Holidays for March, 2020 and paid a 50% deposit. When Morocco closed its borders due to Covid. Initially we put our trip on hold and asked Said to hold our deposit. Said agreed to this. When it appeared holiday travel would likely go on for many months we asked for a refund. Said again agreed but the Moroccan banks, being what they are, refused to release all of our deposit. With some pressure on the bank from us and Said's help we did receive 100% of our deposit.
We planned our April-May 2020 trip to Morocco in the late fall of 2019 and worked with Said at Morocco Discovery. We were taking our adult children and their partners and Said was patient and added everything we wanted and more. One month prior to travel we were surprised by the pandemic, with flights cancelled, borders closed and no idea when we could travel again. Said remained as diligent, helpful and honest throughout the arduous process of refunding our downpayment. We were thrilled with Said, and his company's commitment to customer service and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone travelling to Morocco. As soon as it is safe again it is our intent to rebook with them!
From their already outstanding reviews when I started working with Sayd, this was an amazing experience. I got prompt friendly responses to every question I had and as this was our first trip to Africa I had a lot of questions. The price was incredibly reasonable - I don’t know how they can put the trip together on this budget. We stayed at amazing Riads in every city with excellent food every evening and great breakfasts - our driver was AMAZING- he was always ready wherever we were 1 minute before we needed him. The prearranged guides were the best. If you are going to Morocco - you want to go with Morocco Discovery and you definitely want a driver.
I have to admit, when I first started looking at using a local Moroccan tour company for our trip I was very nervous. After having toured Morocco for 11 days with Morocco Discovery Holidays, I would HIGHLY recommend them without any hesitation. Said worked with me for over a year to come up with a customized trip that included everything we (2 couples) wanted to see and more. Every change I made to the itinerary was completed within hours of my request.. and I made many. Said is very prompt at responding to e-mails and questions. Having a private driver was definitely the ideal way to see Morocco. Our driver, Mohamed was amazing. From the minute he met us at the airport (with sweets to welcome us) until he dropped us off at the port for our journey to Spain, Mohamed could not do enough for us. Mohamed is funny, engaging, very knowledgeable and was totally flexible and I felt very safe at all times, even on the curvy, narrow road. If I wanted him to turn around so I could take a picture, he would…and Did!! LOL Our Riads were beautiful and the meals that were included were some of the best meals we had in Morocco. I cannot say enough about the 5* service and attention we received from Morocco Discovery Holidays and Mohamed during our trip.
Mr Said provided us with a very pleasant and safe driver (Mustafa) as well as a new van, so we had a very enjoyable round trip Casablanca-Rabat-Fes- Marrakech-Casablanca. Local guides accompanied us in Fes and Marrakech, and we could have had other tours but we opted to spend more time walking around the towns. The Riads selected for us were very satisfactory and service all round was great. No hesitation at all in recommending Morocco Discovery.
Said arranged an excellent holiday for us. We began with one of the standard trips as our starting point and adapted it to better suit our needs with an added night here and there and starting in Marrakesh rather than Casablanca. Everything went very smoothly from start to finish.The choice of the Riads in which we stayed was great, as were the guides that were arranged for us. Abdoul proved to be a first rate driver - safe, dependable, friendly and very professional. We felt very comfortable being driven by him and we enjoyed his company.
