Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel by Morocco Discovery representative at the airport. In the afternoon, join the welcome meeting at the hotel lobby with your fellow travelers and Tour Director. Enjoy an exotic and delicious Moroccan cuisine tonight on a group dinner.

Today you will head out for a full-day tour of the pink city. Start your guided tour by visiting the iconic Koutoubia Mosque, and then continue to the Bahia Palace to see traditional Moroccan architecture and tile mosaics. Stop by the Mellah, or former Jewish Quarter, to learn about Morocco's little-known but significant Jewish heritage. Stop for a mid-day lunch on a terrace overlooking the spice markets. Try the tagine and refreshing mint tea, and then head out for the afternoon to explore the souks, or markets, which spread through the winding alleyways of the medina. The shops sell everything from spices to clothing, household goods, and a variety of traditional Moroccan gifts and souvenirs. In the evening make your way to the sprawling Djema El Fna Square to see a colorful medley of street performers, fortune-tellers, musicians, and food vendors. The rest of the day is at leisure with overnight with breakfast.

Today we start our tour towards the High Atlas Mountains. Our path will take us over the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, the highest mountain pass in North Africa. Passing through unforgettable Mountain landscapes and various Berber villages where corn can be seen ripening in the sun on the packed earth roofs of the stone houses. We visit Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, a must-see UNESCO World Heritage site and the backdrop for many Hollywood blockbusters such as “Gladiator” “Indiana Jones” and “Lawrence of Arabia”. From Ait Benhaddou we will continue to Ouarzazate, the Hollywood of Africa, where you will have the option to visit the local film studios and museum before we reach the hotel for the overnight with dinner.

Leaving Ouarzazate we will pass the Skoura Oasis, where numerous ancient Kasbahs, stand among the palm trees. From here our route will take us through Kela’a M’gouna, the Valley of Roses, where you can purchase locally-made rose based toiletries. These products are gorgeous and highly valued throughout Morocco. Then we will have some fun, off-road along the Boutaghrar piste, where we hope to visit Berber nomads in their caves and join them for a glass of tea. Afterwards, there will be time to stroll alongside the river before arriving at the hotel for the overnight with dinner.

Today we head to Todra Gorge on the “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs”, passing the village of Tinghir on the way. On arrival in Todra Gorge, there will be the opportunity to hike for an hour or two, through the villages and fields cultivated by the local Berber women and see the spectacular peaks of the High Atlas Mountains as a backdrop. Then onto the desert road, we will journey to Merzouga via Rissani. In the afternoon we will enjoy a camel trek into the apricot colored sands of Morocco’s highest dunes. Arriving at our desert camp in time to watch the sunset and providing the most wonderful photo opportunities. In the evening you will be served traditional Moroccan cuisine and can enjoy live Berber music around the campfire. You can sleep in your tent in the silence of the desert.

Your day starts early with a picturesque sunrise before enjoying breakfast. You will take a camel ride back to the town of Merzouga where you will meet your driver and head towards the dramatic Ziz Gorge, a spectacular gash in the hills that surround the Ziz Oasis. After passing through a barren plain of scrub and desert on the other side of the Mountains, we reach Midelt and here we can enjoy lunch with a view of the stunning peaks of the High Atlas. The landscapes vary wildly until we reach the cedar forest in Azrou and might be lucky enough to spot a troupe of Barbary Apes that still live wild here. Then drive onto the Switzerland of Morocco, Ifrane. Finally arriving at our destination, the ancient city of Fez, which is the cultural capital of Morocco and the most complete medieval Islamic city in the world.

Meet your private tour guide after breakfast to explore the first imperial city of Morocco, Fez; this UNESCO World Heritage Site was founded in the 9th century, and is home to the world's oldest university. The first stop of the morning is a visit to the entrance of the largest royal palace in Morocco. Afterwards, we will drive for a wonderful panoramic views of the whole medina from the southern tower of Fes, visit a pottery co-operative where tiles and Moroccan mosaic are made. We will visit the tanneries, to watch the locals working with the skins of animals such as goat, camel and cow. We will explore a Medrassa (Koranic school), the Nejjarine fountain, the Moulay Idriss mausoleum, and the Karaouine Mosque University. Enjoy a Moroccan lunch at a traditional restaurant in the Medina. Afterwards, continue to explore the medina and its narrow alleys house hundreds of merchants and craftsmen selling a range of products such as dates, fish, spices, copper urns and musical instruments. The rest of the day is at leisure with overnight and breakfast at the hotel.

Today we leave the ancient city of Fez to the Imperial city of Meknes, known as the “Moroccan Versailles” founded in the 17th century by Sultan Moulay Ismail. Here we will see the highlights; Bab Mansour, the intricately patterned arch argued to be the most beautiful in Morocco; the Place El Hedime and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. Next, we will drive to see Koubba el-Khayatine and Habs Qara, an imperial pavilion that once received diplomats coming to negotiate the ransom of Christian prisoners. We will continue to the Dar el Makhzen, the “Palace of Labyrinths”, and then to Bassin de l’Aguedal, a water tank built to supply water to the palace and imperial city. We continue to visit the outstanding archaeological site of Volubilis. This Roman Ruins is a UNESCO world heritage site of great importance and also gained international acclaim when Martin Scorsese used it as the feature location for his film “The Last Temptation of Christ”. We will briefly visit Moulay Idriss before we head towards the blue town of Chefchaouen for the overnight with dinner at the hotel.

Today you will discover the blue washed alleys of the pleasant medina Chefchaouen. Visit the walled fortress of the Kasbah includes stunning gardens, close to which is the small museum and art gallery which houses the wealthy lifestyle of the Rif Mountains. From the rooftop of the Kasbah view a mind-blowing panorama of the blue and white washed houses, tiled roofs and tiny balconies. After exploring the medina, walk in the nearby hillsides with the notable and marvelous waterfalls. The city presents many native handicrafts that are not on hand some other place in Morocco, such as wool garments and woven blankets. The goat cheese native to the region is additionally popular. Spend the overnight with dinner at the hotel.

Today we leave the blue town towards the commercial city Casablanca. On the way, we will stop in the main capital Rabat that provides prime examples of classic and modern Moroccan culture. Unfold the charm of the imperial city over a guided walking tour, visiting the Kasbah overlooking the Bou Regreg River, Mausoleum of Mohammed V and Hassan II Tower. After an optional lunch, we reach the metropolis city of Casablanca where you will visit the gorgeous mosque of Hassan II to marvel at the fine artisanship: hand-carved stone and wood, intricate marble floor detailing, and gilded ceilings. You will visit Habbous quarters, Bab Marrakech and the exterior of the Royal palace. Spend the overnight with dinner at the hotel.

We leave Casablanca towards the pink city Marrakech. You can choose any activity such as: Cooking Class, Quad biking, or an afternoon relaxing wellness and Spa. You can also choose to stroll in the labyrinths of the colorful souks for crafts shopping. There is the option on just relaxing at the hotel. Optional excluded gala dinner in a local Moroccan Restaurant such as: Chez Ali or Jad Mahal. Spend the overnight with breakfast at the hotel.

We were booked and had paid a deposit for a trip late March of 2020, which was canceled due to the pandemic. Said, the owner of MD, went to extraordinary lengths to refund the deposits for our travel group of six from the U.S. Apparently the Moroccan banking system is not "user friendly" when it comes to wire transfers for reasons unclear to me. Nevertheless, Said managed to refund all our money using a very creative approach. We would DEFINITELY travel with MD in the future given this level of honesty and effort; but we do hope that MD will accept credit cards rather than wires in the future. Thank You Said & Morocco Discovery!
Three of use booked a 19-day with Moroccan Discovery Holidays for March, 2020 and paid a 50% deposit. When Morocco closed its borders due to Covid. Initially we put our trip on hold and asked Said to hold our deposit. Said agreed to this. When it appeared holiday travel would likely go on for many months we asked for a refund. Said again agreed but the Moroccan banks, being what they are, refused to release all of our deposit. With some pressure on the bank from us and Said's help we did receive 100% of our deposit.
We planned our April-May 2020 trip to Morocco in the late fall of 2019 and worked with Said at Morocco Discovery. We were taking our adult children and their partners and Said was patient and added everything we wanted and more. One month prior to travel we were surprised by the pandemic, with flights cancelled, borders closed and no idea when we could travel again. Said remained as diligent, helpful and honest throughout the arduous process of refunding our downpayment. We were thrilled with Said, and his company's commitment to customer service and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone travelling to Morocco. As soon as it is safe again it is our intent to rebook with them!
From their already outstanding reviews when I started working with Sayd, this was an amazing experience. I got prompt friendly responses to every question I had and as this was our first trip to Africa I had a lot of questions. The price was incredibly reasonable - I don’t know how they can put the trip together on this budget. We stayed at amazing Riads in every city with excellent food every evening and great breakfasts - our driver was AMAZING- he was always ready wherever we were 1 minute before we needed him. The prearranged guides were the best. If you are going to Morocco - you want to go with Morocco Discovery and you definitely want a driver.
I have to admit, when I first started looking at using a local Moroccan tour company for our trip I was very nervous. After having toured Morocco for 11 days with Morocco Discovery Holidays, I would HIGHLY recommend them without any hesitation. Said worked with me for over a year to come up with a customized trip that included everything we (2 couples) wanted to see and more. Every change I made to the itinerary was completed within hours of my request.. and I made many. Said is very prompt at responding to e-mails and questions. Having a private driver was definitely the ideal way to see Morocco. Our driver, Mohamed was amazing. From the minute he met us at the airport (with sweets to welcome us) until he dropped us off at the port for our journey to Spain, Mohamed could not do enough for us. Mohamed is funny, engaging, very knowledgeable and was totally flexible and I felt very safe at all times, even on the curvy, narrow road. If I wanted him to turn around so I could take a picture, he would…and Did!! LOL Our Riads were beautiful and the meals that were included were some of the best meals we had in Morocco. I cannot say enough about the 5* service and attention we received from Morocco Discovery Holidays and Mohamed during our trip.
Mr Said provided us with a very pleasant and safe driver (Mustafa) as well as a new van, so we had a very enjoyable round trip Casablanca-Rabat-Fes- Marrakech-Casablanca. Local guides accompanied us in Fes and Marrakech, and we could have had other tours but we opted to spend more time walking around the towns. The Riads selected for us were very satisfactory and service all round was great. No hesitation at all in recommending Morocco Discovery.
Said arranged an excellent holiday for us. We began with one of the standard trips as our starting point and adapted it to better suit our needs with an added night here and there and starting in Marrakesh rather than Casablanca. Everything went very smoothly from start to finish.The choice of the Riads in which we stayed was great, as were the guides that were arranged for us. Abdoul proved to be a first rate driver - safe, dependable, friendly and very professional. We felt very comfortable being driven by him and we enjoyed his company.
